Grounds Workspace
A private AI workspace for law firms, built from your own best work.
Grounds Workspace keeps a firm's matters, documents, and conversations in one place, with an AI that works from the actual record. It drafts on your pleading paper from the documents you mark as your best, cites from a built-in database of state and federal cases and statutes, and opens the source beside every citation. Models run on zero-data-retention hosting: nothing you send is stored by the model provider or used to train the provider's models. A business edition runs on the same foundation with the litigation features removed.
What it does
- Matters that read their own file.
- Upload the pleadings and the workspace extracts parties, claims, defenses, key dates, and a chronology of facts, each linked to the page it came from. Every chat and draft in that matter then knows the case.
- A document editor for court filings.
- A .docx editor in the browser: line-numbered pleading paper, your letterhead, tracked changes that open cleanly in Word, tables of authorities as real Word fields. Named version checkpoints with word-level diffs and one-click restore.
- Drafting from your best work.
- Mark your strongest prior documents and the AI drafts from them: your structure, your phrasing, your firm's way of arguing. Templates handle the variables.
- Chat that knows the matter.
- Link a conversation to a matter and the AI carries the parties, claims, documents, and the matter's record of facts and decisions into every answer. Cited documents open beside the chat. An answer becomes a document with one click. Firm conversations are shared with your team by default, with ethical walls enforced.
- Research that checks itself.
- A built-in database of state and federal cases, statutes, and regulations, with treatment flags on cases that may no longer be good law. The AI must cite real authorities from it, and every citation opens the opinion at the pinpoint.
- eDiscovery.
- Ingest productions with load files; review with relevance, privilege, and hot-document scoring; redact; generate privilege logs; produce with Bates numbers and a share link for opposing counsel. Legal holds and chain of custody included. 20 GB of hosting comes with each law workspace.
- Contract negotiation with a memory.
- Playbooks hold your positions and fallbacks. Each round tracks every change, then generates the outgoing version and the cover email.
- A client portal.
- A private channel where clients, staff, and the AI work in the same thread, with no email attachments. People you invite to the portal don't take a seat.
- Your courts and judges.
- Matters carry the court's local rules, the judge's standing orders, and clerk contacts beside your deadlines.
Hosting and ownership
Model calls run on zero-data-retention hosting. Matter content is encrypted per firm at the application layer, every record is scoped to your firm, and ethical walls apply to pages, search, and the AI's own tools. The workspace runs across several model providers, so a change of model needs no migration of your documents. Your templates, exemplars, playbooks, and documents are your property and export in full. The controls are written out in the Security Addendum and the AI Data Use Policy.
What it costs
per person per month. That is the founding price for the whole workspace: matters, the editor, chat, the library of templates and exemplars, contract negotiation, the client portal, and eDiscovery. AI usage is passed through at what it costs us. People you invite to the client portal don't take a seat. Beyond the included 20 GB of eDiscovery hosting, storage is priced by the gigabyte. Evaluations built from your firm's own work, and custom setup, are quoted per engagement. If you join at the founding price, your bill doesn't change without a conversation first.
